@Osi I am sorry, but most people are probably wrong about 'cultists' - they are 'normal' people like you and I, but they like certainty. They like to think the world is made up of rock-solid facts in which their and their class' survival is guaranteed, if only they got the right man in charge. And they are never too critical of the person who is prepared to assume that role of fake saviour.
We are living in a sea of uncertainty and the clever would-be-leader/dictator who knows how to use that desire of the masses to his advantage, will reap some benefits - often the role of dictator for a certain period of time - only there is always a sober awakening.
They often do it in a less obvious way than Trump, but are just as pernicious.
If you know anything about the manipulation a narcissist uses on his environment, you're halfway to understanding the world's would-be dictators.
There are all kinds of emotional reasons why many people like to put their trust in someone, who seams successful on the outside, who speaks 'their language' (i.e. simple phrases, simple slogans) which language is often composed of complaints and rants - and the clever 'would-be' dictator is tuned into that kind of language, the language simple folk understand, and he bases his slogans on that. If he/she can manage to poke fun at someone else whilst doing his 'indoctrination' so much the better - just look at the phenomenon 'Boris Johnston' - people were entertained by his buffoonery, yet he was never a serious person, never seriously tried to change life for the better for anyone, has in fact done a lot of damage to Britain, yet he was entertaining.
Trump has attempted to do the same thing - except lately he has been failing . . .
Think about it - it's been done throughout the centuries, last time it was Hitler who sung the siren song of victory and superiority to the German People - and it has been happening around the world since, in minor and major ways.
Cool thinking, analysis, honesty is what's needed on politics.
Go well
