According to mining com, there is opposition to the Simandou project which may well cause extensive delays, extensive revision, or possibly even an annulment of the project. 1500 square kilometres encompassing pristine habitat as well as a 650km rail corridor that threatens species are being re-examined as well as the legality of permits granted so far. So far the rail has only progressed 150km.
