Should be prevents and not repairs. I suppose you could say that there is a repair element to its effect, but this is before the cardiomyocyte has died. Once a cardiomyocyte dies, it can't come back.
Bisantrene activates a system within the cardiomyocytes that prevents cardiotoxic drugs from doing enough internal damage to trigger irreversible cardiomyocyte death through apoptosis. If doxorubicin cardiotoxicity is putting your foot on the accelerator, then Bisantrenes cardioprotection is like having your foot on the brake before you hit the accelerator.
