The below analysis is referring to the US report on https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/misc/MSA3057-5/RAND_MSA3057-5.pdf.
This was a commission led by Congresswoman Jane Harman, chair.
Why this Commission is important is they made numerous recommendations to the DoD, USA. If the US went to war with China, they are saying that the US will exhaust their ammo in 28 days! This commission was done before the recent antimony restriction by China. I think the US is in a precarious position strategically. They have not much choice and Australia, being a mine friendly country offer them huge comfort!
