I assume they are re-jigging things as Vmoto appears to have taken things up a notch (as we learnt from L's post).

For those wanting to know more about what is going on, I have cut and pasted some translations and pics from this story......................
    https://motorcycmagazine.grandprix.co.th/vmoto-international/

Some interesting additional info together with some snaps of Adam (Vmoto's COO) and the V's mystery man. I assume he is the head of Vmoto Thailand and was probably appointed a few months ago (february) when Vmoto Thailand was formally established.................................

In any case, they are setting up a manufacturing plant to start with and will step upto R&D for the ASEAN market in pahse 2. Spending @$4.4m up front.

All models appear to be the target of the operation.

So some of the $ from the CR are being used to provide a 'proper' platform for the market there............................(what about news re LATAM?)

Here's the text form the article (courtesy of ChatGPT and there is a lot of cutting and pasting so check out the original coz I could have pasted when I should have cut. Ha!).

    Hers goes........................................

"Vmoto International is a global electric motorcycle manufacturer with over 20 years of experience, distributing products in more than 100 countries and with over 2,000 dealers worldwide. Our products are premium electric motorcycles equipped with 4,000-9,000 watt electric motors and high-quality lithium batteries from reputable manufacturers like CATL. These products are designed and developed under Vmoto International, ensuring reliability and performance.

In the Thai market, Vmoto is entering with models such as CPX, CITI, VS1, CPX PRO, and CPX EXPLORER, featuring motors ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 watts, along with new-generation batteries compatible with fast chargers developed by Vmoto, which can be fully charged within 40 minutes. These models are particularly suited for business use. Additionally, Vmoto is introducing the premium STASH motorcycle, a 9,000-watt Big Bike in the EV Motorcycle segment, capable of reaching speeds of 125 km/h, and the CITI motorcycle for women, with a 4,000-watt motor.

Currently, the prices for some models have been set, with the CPX starting at 99,000 baht, the TC model starting at 99,000 baht, and the CU model starting at 59,000 baht."

"Vmoto International is entering the electric motorcycle market in Thailand, with the first phase involving an investment of 100 million baht. They are establishing a manufacturing plant to produce various models for the Thai market. The company is committed to building its brand by focusing on high-quality standards."
"Adam Cui, Chief Operating Officer of Vmoto International Ltd. from Australia, revealed that Vmoto International is ready to penetrate the Thai market. The company is investing over 100 million baht to launch the VMOTO electric motorcycle brand in Thailand. They have established Vmoto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and, in the first phase, are introducing a variety of electric motorcycle models to target customers at all levels."

"VMOTO's market strategy will focus on B2B marketing, targeting businesses that want to switch from gasoline motorcycles to electric motorcycles. This includes logistics businesses, delivery riders, and motorcycle taxi services. Our motorcycles are developed to be strong, durable, and made from materials that are ready for heavy-duty operations, 24/7. The quality of our products has been confirmed by transportation and delivery operators worldwide, with over 1 million VMOTO motorcycles in use.

Vmoto (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has been established as a representative of Vmoto International to facilitate business operations according to customer needs. Previously, customers had to contact Vmoto International directly, but now they can order products directly from Vmoto (Thailand). This market approach will make it more convenient for customers, as they will not only receive products at lower costs but also benefit from quality after-sales service. This is supported by the establishment of a training center and spare parts warehouse in Thailand."

"The target groups are companies in the delivery business, logistics business, and motorcycle rental business. The focus is on the strengths of electric motorcycles that meet quality standards, featuring technology from Vmoto and stylish, modern Italian design that is both durable and cost-effective. These are 100% electric motorcycles that can travel long distances and come with the latest lithium batteries, guaranteed for performance and durability. The new models include guarantees for both the motorcycles and the batteries, along with fast-charging systems and swapping stations.

In addition, the long-term plan includes investing in a second phase to establish a Vmoto research and development center in Thailand. This center will focus on developing products for the Thai market and the ASEAN region, to better meet the market demands in Thailand."

"The decision to invest in Thailand is based on past experience in the motorcycle industry and the observation that the trend for electric motorcycles in Thailand is continuously growing. This is especially true among users who need to travel in urban areas with heavy traffic congestion and as fuel prices continue to rise. Electric motorcycles are considered a good alternative because they are also environmentally friendly. Another factor is the concern over the proliferation of counterfeit products currently available in the Thai market.

In addition, there is also a service to install EV chargers for interested customers at a special price."

    Cheers
