There does not need to be a change in holding. I have seen a change in significant holding lodgment, where I think the broker / bank or institution involved made a mistake. Over months, the turnover of shares was massive compared to the actual move in holding with algo trading working both buy and sell side. If they are ever questioned they just say it is to provide liquidity as I am sure there is no other reason for that behavior by an institution.
