NOT extreme enough . Ev's should be banned from parking in underground car park, banned from carrying passengers & banned from being within 2 km's a person.
Extreme reaction to electric car fire: South Korean authorities impose restrictions on EV charging following major Seoul blaze.
From September, EVs parked in underground public carparks across Seoul will be banned from having over 90 per cent charge in a move authorities hope will prevent overcharged EV batteries causing uncontrollable fires.
A Reuters report said it took more than eight hours to put out the blaze and it destroyed or damaged at least 140 cars and forced some residents in the apartments above to move to shelters.
74 EV fires occurred in South Korea as opposed to 24 in 2021, according to the country's National Fire Agency, an increase of about 200 per cent.
EV fires are also widely considered to be more difficult to extinguish than internal combustion engine (ICE) ones, given they can release their own oxygen as they burn, causing the fires to reignite.
