Littleprouds caning of the Supermarket "rip off's" is put into perspective by today's Coles report... profit of 2.5% margin odd after tax .
Even worse, the scatterbrained idea of divestiture! Given the low margins, huge distances and logistical challenges, you wouldn't have to be a sharp investment analyst to see how any disruption to these distribution chains could easily eat into a slim margin, and hence actually lead to price increases. Moreso, in rural towns many of the Coles and Woolies stores are likely loss makers and serve to help keep prices down in Rural towns (not talking small or isolated communities). They are likely involved in a predatory pricing breach, but sort of works as a community benefit! Many people from smaller Rural towns travel to shop in these stores also.
The Nuclear thing, whilst interesting and may be the way to go, but seemed poorly thought through and planned.. it will still mean a lot of renewables, yet is sold in rural areas as a way to stop the march of renewables.
Now so called "big box" retailers are in the sights of the Nats! Whatever for??....All this is forgetting that Amazon, EBAY, Temu etc are extremely large and vicious competitors of Australian companies ...and none of them pay any tax Here...not even Aldi!!.....One wonders if many of the overseas companies mentioned here are involved in Predatory pricing!

Well you're always going to get opposing views on a 2 party rigged system.
Better have a NO party system, but the two sides have their followers who incidentally lead down you the same path hand in hand. Just imagine Dutton and Albo holding hands?
