Once Upon a Time in my days, on rare occasions, Mum would buy us a Sputnik, similar to a fudge bar in taste but a lot smaller for 3 pence.
The Hillbillies arrive to town (not a town then) in and on the old Ford ute, the flat head V8, broom, broom.
We would all be loaded up ready to roll and blow me down, the Father would go around and kick all the tires, to make sure they didn't need air and heaven for bid if they did lol, as it was the old hand pump in those days.
Then blow me down, he would then have to roll a smoke.
Buy the time we got going, it was pretty much fight time, all kids loaded up.
One day we had finally talked our Father into taking us to the beach and we were all loaded up and blow me down, at around 10 miles to our East (us West), as far as you could see from North to South, was smoke and flames, with gusty easterly winds up it's backside, nothing was going to stop it.
Some of the locals tried burning back for a break for our place
and Lo - Behold that jumped the bloody road into our place.
But obviously we survived.
It was caused buy a guy lighting a smoke in his paddock and the head of the match flew off.
