I believe Van Eck and UBS have become significant holders of Red 5 only to short the stock...that's what they usually do. (I wrote about Van Eck in June)

Today’s above-average volume of 75,959,925 shares, as well as the unusual after close sales of 18,385,300 shares, could indicate that Van Eck and UBS may finally start to exit Red 5...and if that happens we should see a rebound in the share price.
