The Czech prosecutor's office accuses the founder of the Help Ukraine foundation, Vladimir Gergel, of embezzling funds for Ukrainian refugees.

Last year, the foundation received 20 million Czech crowns from the country's Ministry of Education, in particular, for studying the Czech language.

Gergel eventually transferred about 2 million to his mother's account, later another 6 million were withdrawn from the account in cash, while 8 million were transferred to buy an apartment in Prague's Branik district.

But the foundation's employees never received their salaries.
