Yes the index fund just tracks the shares, but it is facilitating the companies dropping in and out of the indexes.
the fund bought at near 7 and has to sell at near 2. Losing alot of money there.
i wonder if the index funds are the shorters to cover the losses when companies have to leave the index ?
all very complicated. I just feel like mum and dad investors are the ones getting burnt by all this.
Although could be said that that mum and dad investora have it pretty good because they can inveat in an index over a whole sector or the whole market nowadays.
