we are gonna need a hell of a lot more projects, with coal on the way out, how are we going to keep the lights on? As for new technology how will it be developed without gas? From mining the minerals to transportation to manufacturing and so on, the reliance on gas is going to be unprecedented, that’s what I mean by the new gold. IMO
