Bisantrene has a history of clinical use, dating back to trials conducted in the 1980s and 1990s. During these earlier trials, Bisantrene demonstrated some efficacy in treating patients with AML and other cancers, particularly in cases where patients were resistant to other chemotherapies.The drug was initially developed and tested for its anti-cancer properties but was later shelved as it did not give enough results.
