Sorry no the numbers don't support that. If you consistently increase the population at a faster rate than build you homes, which is what had happened for 30 years, you create a housing shortage. A housing shortage creates unaffordable housing, simple supply & demand.
If Australia built more homes than the population increased by for a decade house prices would fall significantly.
