yes, it's a prediction - but, if we go back 20 years - what did Li batteries look like then?

Li is usable tech - but, it's got issues. Lots of issues. When a new tech that comes out that doesn't have those issues - Li will become history rapidly.

It will be replaced rapidly because of the volume of use on the planet atm ------- cars, house batteries, small devices ----- the uses for batteries are almost impossible to count.

With the research into better battery technology - a solution will come, probably come reasonably soon and when it comes - it will sweep away all before it.
