When potash was $1000/tonne, spending a couple of hundred to truck it from the middle of nowhere may have made economic sense, at $300/tonne, possibly not. RUM chose their bulks projects deliberately close to rail. Over the long term, access to cheap transport and other infrastructure makes or breaks bulks projects. Not that RWD doesn't have options (e.g. build their own rail link), but they likely involve high capex outlay. This applies even more to phosphate projects where prices are even lower, RUM has the closest to rail and shallowest DSO compared to other phosphate projects that I know of.
