the risk you run is if you hold for ex-divvie date- yes you might acquire 1k-2k depending on how much stock you hold. but if it bleeds out tomorrow then you would be down 2k+ and stuck holding the stock (no real chance of selling as it usually dumps early) Im not saying this will occur tomorrow but i have seen it happen many times to various stocks. it may deter people from holding on until tomorrow and rather sell for safety considering the state of the market.
