From a personal perspective, I would steer clear of LIT. Let's just say they have a history & I've been burnt there myself.
LIT crushes batteries to recover black mass (BM) & it's then sent offshore to be processed. I'm unsure of how scalable their process is, in theory, NMT should be able to construct a 500tpd plant. Plus, the real money is in battery grade chemicals that are produced in a refinery, that's something LIT lacks. As far as I know, LIT doesn't possess any technology to refine BM.
NMT uses a hydrometallurgical process to recover battery-grade chemicals from BM in a refining Hub, whereas LIT just crushes batteries & then disposes the BM to third parties.
I can crush batteries in my backyard with a hammer & call myself a battery recycler.
