Remuneration for MacBank is totally off the scale - being head of a large bunch of shareholder resourced brainiacs somehow entitles the COE to a massive share of the profits - 70% of profits go to staff in MacWank.
BHP and CBA are paid because they sit on top of a massive workforces with huge numbers of sub managers - they all work the same hours but get vastly different pay-packets.

NST MD&CEO (another Tonkin) gets around A$2m base pay and about A$5-6m in incentive pay. He has many senior staff helping him - he's not the Lone Ranger.

RED MD gets around A$0.7m base pay + incentives >A$1m (?)
Luke Tonkin could do Stuart Tonkins job and vice versa

LT's payday was the culmination of his SLR reign ... so why are people surprised that he cashed out ??

Senior executives in mining companies have, do and will always attract large pay-packets ... fact of life ... move on.
