Ash content assumptions has remained the same in their investor presentation deck, and it was only revealed in one-liner last quarter that it was higher and facilities were considered to reduce the ash content (ash content figures remain unadjusted however in their most recent deck). No exact figures, but if higher ash contents = lower ASP, then we could take whatever futures pricing and apply a fair discount to it. Whatever the figure might be, it would be lower than what would had been possible had their assumptions in the deck hold up. Just using simple logic here.

Fair to say, there might be reluctance on the part of management to reveal the true cost and average sale price, since it might be better to leave them unsaid (given that it may skew them unfairly to the higher side at this point in time, but not truly reflecting the average long term cost), than to say them and to open the flood gates. If CKA had been struggling with logistics and finances in the past 2 years, it will struggle more going forward (natural logical assumption), assuming that there is no material new partnership.

My current view is that alone, CKA will struggle more than the past 12/24 months since the climate for cyclical commodities have turned (just have a quick look at how well run mines like WHC and YAL prices have turned notwithstanding cashflows). Happy to hear rebuttals.

My understanding is they were referring to ash in what has been taken from the current seams, seam I and seam J. These were not part of the original resource ash content that were published but were uncovered as they opened the road (they remain what we are currently mining).
I'm happy to be corrected if i've misunderstood this.
