Quick one for you, most dangerous flights I ever did in peace time was rescueing Bullimore and Dubious (around the world yacht race, that went pear shape).
57deg south in sea state 9, flying at approx 150 ft ASML, white wash everywhere, low on fuel, no divert (ditch only), first day 23.5hr day then 18's.
Fn hard work, earnt my beer after each sortie. Bloody yachties so far south!! grrr.
