There not selling and no one is buying while Telfer is on care & maintenance, the tailings dam had to be fixed, which has taken months, and they no doubt brought forward maintenance on the plant itself also as good operators

That's not to say discussions have not been happening and are 95% complete, but a sale could not possibly happen while the plant is not operating and had been closed by the regulators due to the issue with the tailings dam. Newmont with there expertise and funds where the only ones to do this work expeditiously.


For months, they have been advertising a whole range of jobs, even for the gold room, i have no doubt pressing of the go button on the plant means a sale wont be far away.
