I think this is significant for Phoenix. A delay caused by lack of planning consent (due to those “multi year” backlogs) would have put off any potential acquirer from proceeding.
Clearly there has been a lot of lobbying by interested parties to get this issue resolved by by getting state approval to circumvent part of the existing approval process.
Once ratified, I expect this will unlock the next phase of any acquisition and should be a major update. I’ll be keeping a close watch on this one.
