yet political parties give rise to incompetents and often limit the potential of real achievers. they prefer people who can advocate party policy, not those who might provide valuable insights into the flaws and faults of party politics, aka factional disputes.
but party politics is easier so that many don't even bother to understand or assess their local candidate. and once voted for they often ignore whats happening in the electorate or how the elected person conducts themselves in parliament. Barnaby is a prime example, Taylor another and plenty more examples in all parties.

but thats the way for many voters FF. to expand on how an independent parliament might work would only be speculation and requires a thread.
