MM, I have already made the point in this thread that if the HV battery, which I had tested a few mths ago and still OK, in my 14 yr old Camry hybrid needed replacing I would most likely replace it. The car needs a sway bar bush replaced, other than that it is still near perfect. Why would I dump it?
It has a "for life" gear box but if I still have my license in a few years I will prolly give it an oil change but these Toyotas have been around for ages and there are plenty of mechanics qualified for such a simple task.
Again I repeat, a hybrid is an ICE with regenerative braking but with useful grunt for no fuss acceleration from the lights and for overtaking road trains. Can't match pure EVs for acceleration of course but the tyres last longer. In a perfect world it would have more direct drive from a stop so you could get that cheerful chirp from the tyres from the lights.
