That's not a WOW thing - it's an industry-wide phenomenon. It has always been cheaper to buy many pharmaceuticals at the chemist than at the supermarket. It's an outcome of many people being too lazy-minded to research the best deal.
We've been able to buy paracetamol for $3 per 100 (gone up 50% since COVID) for ages even at the neighbourhood chemist. I notice there is now a generic version of ibuprofen at about the same price. Even Aldi can't compete so they concentrate on smaller quantity boxes at their usual profit margin.
