Had EV's since 2015.

Being stuck in traffic with the AC on is not really an issue, hence the "Camping mode" in a Tesla. Heatpumps/AC in an EV uses a tiny amount of energy compared to the energy used to actually move the car forward.
I would argue having to run your combustion engine just to power your AC while stuck in traffic would drain more range.
Remember when stuck the EV uses NO energy as it is not moving but the ICE vehicle still burns fuel just to generate electricity to run your AC.
Charging is another matter, it's just like your phone. If you can't access a charger it can't charge and battery life becomes an issue.
To date i have never ever run dry/empty in any of the EV's i've had. and a recharge at a charging station in the model Y can add 200 km range in 8 minutes, just enough time to run to the bathroom and having a quick pee and washing your hands, or having a cigarette, superchargers are less than 50 km apart on the freeway/motorway in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany ect. And that is excluding all the other chargers than Teslas own charging stations. I have no experience with charging in other nations than those.
We drive app. 35000 km each year. so we charge the car every 4th day (or twice a week). Usually at night when the car is in the garage and we are at sleep. My phone however rarely lasts a day without having to charge it, yet i cope.
But that said, living in an apartment and not having your own garage/driveway/parking with charging option would force me to visit superchargers at least twice a week, or 8 minutes every 2nd day.
Driving 35000 km a year would need 2200 liters of oct 95 petrol/gas for a small Toyota AYGO at 14 DKK per liter it is DKK 30800 per year -> buying a full tank every 6th day
Driving 35000 km a year in a model Y would need 5400 kWh at a max price of 1-3 DKK per kWh is DKK 5400-16200 per year -> Charge the battery full every 4th day
A Wall charger is a one time expense of 4000 DKK, installation if you can't do it will cost you 2000 DKK
So i save 14600-25400 DKK a year
Even if i bought a new Wall Charger each year and had someone install it for me i would still save 8600-19400 DKK a year
