Brazil and United States resume U.S.-Brazil Strategic Minerals Dialogue

Event showcased a renewed commitment to bilateral cooperation and technical exchange between the two countries.

Brasília, September 10, 2024: The U.S. Embassy and Consulates in Brazil announce the resumption of the U.S.-Brazil Strategic Minerals Dialogue on September 4. This event showcased a renewed commitment to bilateral cooperation and technical exchange between the two countries.

Led by U.S. Department of State Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt and Brazil’s Secretary of Geology, Mining, and Mineral Transformation Vitor Saback, the Dialogue underscores the shared interests both countries have in advancing technology and innovation within these sectors.

“I am thrilled to deepen our engagement with Brazil to develop secure and sustainable supply chains. I see many opportunities for us to advance our bilateral goals by frequent engagement through the Strategic Minerals Dialogue as we support our governments’ shared interests in accelerating the energy transition and leveraging that to create opportunities for both our countries,” A/S Pyatt said.

The discussions during this Dialogue aim to increase interconnectivity between the United States and Brazil while enhancing technical cooperation to address challenges facing critical minerals markets globally.
