Thank you for your well reasoned response and previous discussion.
I agree that PLS is not in any threat - the current level of shorts has been in the 20-22% range for 9 months - which means that any new short position entered in this period has had a corresponding amount of covers. Hence the decline in SP this year is unlikely to have been influenced by any short trading during this period, though any new entrant to buy PLS might baulk when seeing the level of short interest.
I apologise for overreacting and describing extreme situations - I guess it's like I resorted to shouting to make myself heard better?
However I disagree with you that borrowing money to buy shares is equivalent to borrowing shares to sell them. My explanation hasn't convinced you, just like yours has not convinced me. I'll leave it there - I agree that we disagree.
