Just recently I had a mechanical issue with my PHEV while still under warranty. I was without my car for three weeks waiting for a new fuel pump to come out from South Korea.

Had I have owned a pure electrical car, this problem would never have occurred.

Fortunately for me, the dealership loaned me a car because I have significant health issues and needed to get to appointments.

The car they loaned me was an ICE vehicle that they use as a demonstration model.

It was a lovely car to drive and had all of the latest electronic doodads.

The only way I could fault it, was that it burnt fuel.

In the three weeks I had it, I had to revert to refuelling at a service station , something I rarely have to do, (even with a PHEV).

Not that I ever would go back to owning an ICE vehicle but it was a good reminder why I had switched in the first place, ie mechanical issues with ICE and expensive and inconvenient fuelling, that cannot be avoided.
