Mr Rothschild is leading a US3 Billion takeover that will create the Worlds biggest exporter to China. In Mr Rothschilds words There is no global coal company today AND THAT'S WERE THE OPPORTUNITY IS.
up until last month Mr Rothschild had been searching for a natural resourses (Coal) aquisition.
In a deal announced last month Valler will merge with 25% if INDONESIAN coal producer PT Bumi Resourses and 75% of PT Berau coal energy.
In Los Angeles in October he met Nirwan Bakrie, one of the Bakrie family that controls Bumi, Indonesias biggest coal producer.. The three way merger will create a 'resourses champion' in Indonesia, the worlds biggest exporter of power station coal.
'INDONESIA IS A SLEEPING GIANT' Mr Rothschild said, 'One scratches ones head to think why isn't there a mining (coal) champion out there already and hopefully we are in the process of showcasing one in the years ahead.
The new company 'Bumi PLC' plans to almost double coal production from mines in indonesia to 140 million tons a year by 2013.
