    this isn't unusual for spring

I've had snow in Tassie on New Years eve at a NY party -- love it.

ATM - there's a cold snap in Oz - same deal here for me atm in France. The French connections expect the cold to pass and get back to our lovely autumn - although anxiety is setting in about the tomatoes and pumpkins

yesterday was spud and onion picking day - what a lovely thing to do in the countryside re-enacting what people here have done for so long - gorgeous day, 16 degrees or so, wearing a coat - only a couple of weeks back sweating like mad in 35 degrees.
Today - it's off to kill the cow and get some beef perhaps at an agricultural show - that should complete the recipe list for the boeuf bourguignon -
All the seasonal Ozzies and Kiwis and Americans have or are buggering off, October is my favourite month. The French come out to play - when the first frosts hit, the chef's DNA comes into play and they begin the 'real' cooking.

we shall see what the winter brings this year
