I cant agree that if Russia strikes the territory of the West, the people of the West will turn against their Governments. Quite the opposite IMO.

If Russia strikes first (and Im not talking nuclear) the people of the West will suddenly feel much more threatened than they have to date and that's the force (we've seen throughout all of history) that unites countries against a common foe. Thereafter people will agree almost unanimously that Russia was in the wrong because now they feel extremely threatened and their survival depends on fighting the common foe as one. Add the power of propaganda to that equation and you will be amazed at how quickly the people of the West will be in almost universal agreement that Russia is at fault for this war that the USA/NATO deliberately started.
