SiO2 is not a real problem. SiO2 separation is part of the processing after the ore is crushed and milled to < 50 microns, magnetic separation collects the magnetic particles, better separation more grinding. Getting the ore down to size is the biggest processing cost due the high power requirements and high wear. So SiO2 separation is a trade off between recovery, processing cost and customer requirements.
