Rudd campaigned in the leadup to the 2007 election, on his supposedly wonderful relationship with the Chinese.

But, as the Chinese demonstrated, just because you can order your Chinese takeaway without pointing to the menu, doesn't make you a major influence on the world stage.

They shafted him.

Rudd is an ego maniac who has a bigger plan for his own future, and no one elses.
