one thing that is not attractive is someone who has tickets on themselves and you appear to have. You also come across as cold blooded in the way you assess things - and there is absolutely no doubt that whether you think you have empathy or not I am yet to be convinced that you do so. You remain stubbornly biased in the way you look at the world and I’m guessing that stubbornness is exacerbated by your self belief. I certainly see no evidence of a person with a sense of kindness.

as to your somewhat patronising comment about community work you have missed the point entirely. So bound up in your need to reinforce your intellectual prowess you do not understand the value of kindness and bringing joy to peoples lives. Humans engage when their hearts are engaged, when the feel they matter and when they have opportunity to connect and focus. i have multiple examples from my current project and that fills my soul as well.

and to the thread topic good teachers understand that. They are not soft and fluffy but have boundaries, they are not harsh and all intellect - but bring kindness to bear. And they create a sense of possibility

but if you do not create the right environment for teachers you don’t get teachers that can do that.
