The ME is magic.
I have walked in the lonely Negev
here and there are shards of pottery and other evidence
that humans lived here in another climate and era.
The Romans abandoned Ephesus because people were dying
of an unknown disease (malaria)
The Roman aqueduct is still erect 20m tall in north Israel.
Just south of the Lebanon border at the coast is a magical series of caves, tunnels sea and chairlift.
Visit East Jerusalem and stand at the wailung wall with Jews and walkto the West Bank
where tensions are still.
The same feeling you get in Derry/Londonderry just over the Eire border in NI.
