I think we might be on the same page!
Haim Eshed talked about a "Galactic Federation". That suggests a possible "United Nations" style organisation of aliens from different galaxies or solar systems.
We know very little about God, and He could be the Supreme Leader of the Federation, and Lucifer/Satan might have been His deputy, or second-in-command. Lucifer wasn't content to be the second-in-command, he wanted to be the supreme leader, so he organised a rebellion. (Remember Hawke & Keating?) Even though he rebelled and caused a war, God and Satan were still on talking terms. God allowed Satan to test Job.
I suspect God and Satan have agreed to a test of their leadership powers, and we were created to be used as their "lab rats". Satan and his demons are allowed to get into people's heads, if they're stupid enough to allow them to by taking drugs, falling for his temptations, etc, and if they can be turned away from God, then they belong to Satan.
Perhaps when "Project Humanity" is brought to an end, the one with the most followers wins ... but that's only my guess. If it isn't basically a "numbers game", why was a career thief who was sentenced to death, given a ticket to Heaven in his dying moments for simply acknowledging Jesus?
