A cynic might think that bonuses are related to share price rather than total share-holder return .
But the different treatment of capital gains vs income in the tax system probably doesn't help.
The level of franking credits available to a company would also come into it.
Of course , as a baby boomer with most of his bank shares in a pension fund , I'd have my preferences.
But it cant All be about me .
