Already answered in large part.
The cost of the NDIS in 2012 was $0.
The cost of the NDIS in 2024 was trending towards ~$45Bn.
That's multiple times higher than original projections when it was introduced.
It's clearly no longer a safety net.
It's trending to cost the budget more than the age pension by 2030.
How can a disability support scheme (not even the actual disability pension) cost more than the age pension, a payment which 2.6m people receive?
Absurd.
