We are thrilled to announce Mark Schneider as a new member of our expert group. Mark will be Nuclear for Australia's Nuclear Workforce Expert having worked in many nuclear reactors in the United States. Mark will be moving to Perth next month. We wish him and his family a safe move to Australia and look forward to welcoming them. Read Mark's bio: Mark Schneider holds a bachelors in nuclear engineering technology and masters in cybersecurity from Thomas Edison State University. Mark has 23 years of nuclear power experience and 26 years of total engineering experience. He served 20 years in the United States Navy as a nuclear electronics technician rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer before earning his commission as a Nuclear Power Limited Duty Officer. While in the Navy he served on board 3 nuclear submarines and a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. He also spent several years at nuclear shipyards conducting major vessel overhauls and construction of nuclear vessels. He retired from the Navy in 2018 at the rank of Lieutenant. After his time in the United States Navy he worked for Dominion Energy as Surry Power Station as a control room operator (nuclear). He spent three years working for the United States Coast Guard as an electrical engineer working on communications systems. While he is presently in Virginia in the United States he is moving to Perth, WA next month as his wife is supporting the AUKUS pillar 1 program. He plans to bring his nuclear and engineering experience to companies in Australia. Mark is married to the former Ashley Zysko who is Chief Safety, Engineering and Assurance Officer for H&B Defense.
