All resource companies and all of great interest to the Chinese government. Sure he is a substantial investor. He is in it for a "quid". Why is he interested in NTU. Same reason as you and I. The question is "who has he got in mind to sell out to to get that quick quid". He is not a white knight and he now has a controling interest. A controlling interest by an individual is different to a controlling interest by another listed company. As he builds up his stake our future profit from NTU becomes more and more in his hands. Alarm bells are starting to ring.
