In ACT there's two years free rego for EVs at the moment. And no stamp duty.
And if you do a salary sacrifice arrangement, there's no FBT if under the Luxury Car Tax threshold.
I'm considering an EV for my next car when current lease expires in 18 months. Not because I want to save the planet, but because the government incentives make it cost effective. Also because I love the concept of maximum torque at zero RPM.
I wouldn't get a Tesla or any of the Chinese ones though. I'd be looking Euro such as one of the Audi E-trons.
Biggest concern though, is would I get anywhere close to the 'ballon' payment on resale after the 5 year lease is up.
