An obvious reason not listed by Chat GTP is ceasing to be an insider means that you no longer have influence in the direction of the company and an informational advantage (over common folk) which can stack the odds of success as an investor in a business.
One could make an argument that when someone leaves a business (as an insider), the investment advantage they once had starts to degrade over time and they may seek to reduce their risk as a result.
