''Sounds like those Lebanese with Aussie citizenship choosing to live in Lebanon are happy to stay there until Albo provides them with free flights.''
an amazing leap of non logic - pure assumption straight out of a biased brain
''People in Lebanon have had months and months of common sense warning that they should come home to Australia as their home.''
tis amazing how people just don't understand humans - tis amazing how people cannot empathise with a great deal of people, tis amazing how the lessons and experiences are recorded in history - yet, many of us here - just fail to read them and comprehend
too many words to read I guess, and a lack of reading comprehension
is it a big stretch of the imagination and empathy to grasp that people who have lives entrenched somewhere - find it hugely difficult to up camp and shift away?
the op states ---------- ''People ..... have had months and months ''
put oneself in the situation -
if one has one's life all set up in Australia ----- house, home, work, children, grandparents, social network - life basically -----
and, you have months of warning that Chnoslavakia is going to attack Australia - it's likely going to rain missiles down on you --------
do you move away? Do you move to NZ? Do you move to the UK? Do you move to America?
Do you resign the job, take the kiddies out of school, grab the grandparents, leave the house - just walk out on it, pack a few bags and leave????????
well - it would be - would it not - one hell of a big decision? To leave everything behind, just take a couple of bags and leave - to a new life somewhere else.
pfffffffffffffft ----- I suggest that the majority of Aussies would just sit pat and see what happens
I suggest that is exactly why a lot of Jews stayed in Germany etc instead of running like hell.
I suggest that people who author OP's like this have no idea at all of the requirements to just 'up and leave'
it would take a clear head, it would take an enormous amount of guts and determination, it would take decision making in the face of much resistance from many members of family and friends
it would be so so so so much easier to just sit and 'see what happens'
A life of encumbrances - anchors one firmly to where they are
