    You have the church backwards. The church we are supposed to be talking about is not some denomination, such as the Roman Catholic Church. There is no perfect denomination - I think we all can agree on that! Some are worse than others. What matters is the real "church" the ekklesia/ecclesia as Greeks say it. I'm Greek and speak the language and I know what it means (and how to pronounce which is not the way most people do it but that's not important). Among Greeks, it typically refers to the people gathering together. During ancient Greece, the ekklesia of ancient Athens was a popular assembly of only male citizens. In terms of the Bible teachings, it means an assembly of fellow Christians. Some use a slightly different interpretation and say it's the "called out assembly" or "called out ones" but it's the same intended meaning. So, your reference to Rome is not only a diversion but also irrelevant to the conversation.
