Alan Cransberg views regarding gas and importance of energy in WA, but in Victoria if the power plants were to change to gas exclusively it has been estimated that for every year of base load gas operation in Victoria it would equate to 5 years of gas supply being used.
According to dept of infrastructure and energy Gas reserves in the Gippsland Basin region are sufficient for 37 years , as compared to a 500 year supply of lignite.
