OFZ to produce ferrosilicon in Uzbekistan; criticizes EU energy policy
In order to survive, Slovakian ferroalloy producer is moving to Uzbekistan. The company will buy Uzbek ferroalloy Uz-Shingdong Silicon's real estate and plant and operate as OFZ Angren. OFZ will relocate two ferrosilicon furnaces to the new facility--a 20 MW unit and eventually a 11-MW furnace. OFZ blamed the EU for its unfavorable energy policy.
