We accept borders that were never borders in the first place next to a piece of land (that we still desire to take over) inhabited by and existing state that we refuse to recognize.
If you believe that then you are entitled to your reality.
I prefer to listen to their current rhetoric and actions and expressed desires to define my actions in response to the threat.
